Finally Home - Merry Christmas

Well, we've been running around since Saturday and finally made it home last night in time for Christmas Eve candlelight service at church. We left a little early for church so that we would have time to drive by the "Magic Tree" in Columbia. No words can describe it. You just have to see it yourself. It's just a tree in some guy's yard in the middle of a subdivision. He does it every year. There was a line of cars last night, so I'm sure his neighbors love him!
Unfortunately, Campbell has come down with another bad cold and has been running a fever. She was up screaming several times during the night and was not feeling very well at all today. She did her best to play with her new toys this morning, but she pretty much just wanted to be held this afternoon. Daddy was up until the wee hours trying to put together Campbell's new kitchen set. We could really use a good night of sleep! We'll see how tonight goes. The big girls had a great Christmas and enjoyed hangin' at home today to play with all their loot.

Christmas with Friends

One thing I love about the Holidays is catching up with friends and family that you may not get to see throughout the year. It's become an annual tradition for Mandi Boehringer, Mandi Dickherber, Gretchen Van Beers, Lyn Barry, Stacey Jakul and me to get together for lunch or dinner. On Sunday we met up for dinner and had a nice time catching up. Unfortunately, we missed Stacey this year.On Tuesday, we headed to Kirkwood to get some Dewey's Pizza, a FAVORITE of our family's when we were leaving there. Nick says it's better that Shakespeare's, but would never say it out loud in Columbia.... We had a nice visit with Lisa Prinster, but still no Rick. Nick thinks she's making him up.... We then stopped by to see my cousin Jenny and her family. Many of you are familiar with them through their blog - The Shaffer Times. Everyone appeared to be doing well.

Anyone want to guess where this tree came from????

From Football to Basketball

Well, we've made the transition from football to basketball. There are many more basketball games, but they only last 2 hours and are inside! Campbell enjoys being the center of attention in our section and makes a new friend every game. She doesn't watch much basketball because she has her eye on Truman the Tiger the entire game. She's also picked up a few cheers and enjoys trying to dance like the cheerleaders and Golden Girls. It's a riot! It's not Missouri Basketball of old - yet, but it's still fun to watch.

MU vs. KU @ Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City

A new Thanksgiving tradition for us - heading to Kansas City for the final "season" football game against KU at Arrowhead Stadium. Unfortunately, the weather was as pleasant as the outcome of the game, which KU won. Although it was cold & rainy, we went prepared and had a great time! The girls had a blast and got to hang out with Abby Hake. We made a quick stop at the Plaza before heading home to Miss Campbell, who would have been MISERABLE at the game!
